Harbour View, Seaham

Shadbolt Group are excited to be working alongside contractors, NCS, giving a new lease of life to former derelict Harbour View Hotel site after a major fire in 2016 which caused the 1830’s building to collapse.

This seafront site is the ideal location for a new commercial facility with the amount of footfall passing along the front street. The complex is set to hold a bowling alley, bar, residential apartments on the upper floors and basement to the lower.

Our structural engineers have been responsible for designing the structural steelwork for the four-storey building.

The COVID-19 situation and national lockdown at the start of 2020 delayed the start of build, however, this allowed our structural engineers more time in the design office.

The building quickly took shape once construction hit ground with Northern Structures erecting the steel framework.

Build is set to complete in the Summer (2021) with internal fit-out to follow.
