What is your role at Shadbolt Group?

I am an Associate Director within the Shadbolt Group, but I would say that my primary role is as a Senior Architectural Technologist. This involves overseeing projects, client and design team liaison, and undertaking all forms of architectural design work.

What has been your proudest achievement at Shadbolt Group?

I would say there were two for me; the first being part of the original team to establish Shadbolt Architectural and the second becoming a full, Chartered Member of CIAT (The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists).

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I ended up in the Construction Industry by chance! I was working towards a degree in Music Production when I took on some CAD draughtsman work on the side; these were my first steps into a career in Architectural Technology.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I find the diversity of the role to be the most enjoyable aspect. I might be on site one day, working on a detailed design for a specialist care facility the next, then producing concept schemes for a masterplan the day after that.

What do you enjoy most about working at Shadbolt Group?

The camaraderie and dynamics of the group are great. With our different departments all working together, there’s always help on hand when problems arise, or if we need someone to bounce ideas off, or even if we just need a different perspective on things.
