This Christmas, The Shadbolt Group has made a charitable donation of £1,000 to the Newcastle West End Foodbank.
Located in Benwell, the foodbank opened in March 2013 and has grown to be the largest in the UK, feeding more than 40,000 people in the last 12 months.
Michael Nixon of the Newcastle West End Foodbank commented: “We are very grateful for this generous donation from The Shadbolt Group, which will enable us to feed approximately 200 families for a week.
“We offer emergency food assistance to people in the west end of Newcastle, one of the most economically and socially deprived areas in the North East so donations, whatever the size, are always very welcome indeed.”
Lee Butler, director of The Shadbolt Group added: “As a company we frequently make charitable contributions and hope that this donation will make a big difference to the lives of many families in our local area this Christmas.”
